Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Lance Teaser prior to the Super Bowl with a head of videogames

During the Super Bowl LVI, the spectators will see a new trailer of sonic the hedgehog 2. In recent days, Paramount has been generating enthusiasm for trailer, launching a series of different advances. Only a few hours before the start, the official Twitter account of the film launched a new advance, and this has a great focus on Dr. Robotnik by Jim Carrey. In the first film, Robotnik used devices inspired by his Games weapons, but this time, we are seeing creations extracted directly from the titles of Sega Genesis, especially the Giant Eggman robot!

Advance can be found on the Tweet embedded below.

Interestingly, last year, Jakks Pacific released a toy from the Giant Eggman robot, which is currently available in several different retailers. That specific toy was based on the appearance of him in the Games of Genesis, where he was a boss that the players had to destroy. The resemblance in the film seems to be a dead bell for both, although significantly larger!

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022) -

Of course, sonic the hedgehog 2 seems to be inspiring a lot in the Sonic The Hedgehog classic games of Sega! The first film focused predominantly in the conflict between Sonic and Dr. Robotnik, with Tails making a brief appearance at the end of the film. It seems that the sequel will increase video game references, with Tails playing a much more important role and Knuckles the Echidna doing its debut in real action. Knuckles appeared for the first time in 1994 Sonic the Hedgehog 3, where he was presented as an antagonist, before becoming a friend and fellow Hero of Sonic. The above progress shows how Knuckles will follow a similar path in the new film, and it seems that it will be a great physical threat to Sonic!

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 will be released at the cinemas on April 8, 2022. Meanwhile, readers can consult our previous film coverage here.
