Kurez Vor Davis-Cup-Qualifier: Kahlmann and Corona Crapped
Kohlmann was tested positively on Tuesday on the coronavirus. The captain of the German Davis Cup team complained of symptoms since last Friday. A positive PCR test now brought certainty.
The disease Kohlmann has so far a mild course. Only on Friday he had symptoms that had already subsided on Saturday. All rapid test remained negative until Monday afternoon. Due to a positive test result of his child on Monday at school, Kohlmann made prophylactically a PCR test on the same morning, which then performed positively. Since then, the DTB national coach is in quarantine.
On 4 and 5 March, the German team is a guest as part of the Davis Cup in Brazil. There is still a hope that Kohlmann can be with it. His departure to Rio de Janeiro is scheduled for Saturday – if there is previously a negative test result, the 48-year-old can be there.
If Kohlmann continues to remain quarantined, co-trainer Philipp Petzschner will step in and look after the German Davis Cup team on site together with Dirk Dier.
