Klaus Hofmann resigns as President of FC Augsburg
“For some time now, I have been suffering from the double burden at the FCA and my company under stronger health problems,” said Hofmann in a message from the association that he could “no longer perform both topics with the usual and necessary care”. That is the reason why “I decided after the successful relegation with a heavy heart to give up my offices as President of the e.V. and as managing director of the KGAA and to concentrate on my company.”
“We regretted the resignation of Klaus Hofmann with regret, but of course respect his decision,” said Thomas Müller, chairman of the supervisory board of FC Augsburg, accepted the reasons from Hofmann and wishes him “only the best”. “Klaus Hofmann has strongly shaped the development of the club since December 2014, so that the FCA is now as stable as we experience it today.”
The 54-year-old Hofmann also sees it as follows: “The FCA is more than solidly established and will continue to write the success story of the past few years.”
With the succession plan, Müller wants to deal with all the rest in the committees “in the coming weeks”.
